Towards A Sonar Bangla

This Monograph represents a special case study on the background, challenges faced, strategy adopted and the outcome obtained in a spontaneous, valiant and fearless battle by a tiny group of Bengali students from the conservative rural Mid-Western region of the US to counter the support to the Military Regime in Pakistan by the US Administration during the 1971 Bangladesh War of Liberation. The Monograph concludes with an account of a couple of the initial efforts towards attaining the much sought-after Sonar Bangla launched immediately following the liberation of Bangladesh, notably in close personal association with the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, himself. We are sure that this Monograph would certainly be a value-added to the enormous and rich volume of historical literature covering numerous aspects of the Bangladesh War of Liberation during 1971 now widely available
